讲座人简介：

Dr. Zhu was born andraised in Suzhou, China. He spent most of his childhood playing badmintoncompetitively at national level, team mating with players who later becameOlympic Champions. After the retirement from competitive badminton, he studiedat Shanghai University of Sport and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in CoachingEducation in 1999, and a Master’s degree in Exercise Science in 2002. Havingworked for Chinese Badminton Association for a short while, he was admitted tothe doctoral program of Kinesiology at Indiana University at Bloomington, wherehe obtained a Ph.D. degree in Human Performance with minor in ExperimentalPsychology in 2008. Since 2008, he has worked at the University of Wyoming asan assistant professor and associate professor for 10 years. His researchexamines the mechanisms underlying the perceptual-motor skills. Using theecological and perception-action approach, he has studied a variety of topicsincluding affordances, overarm throwing, visual illusion effects on Fitts’tapping, bimanual coordination, motor control in jump-landing, andperceptual-motor rehabilitation. His research findings have been published inmajor journals in domains of sports science, psychological science and brainscience, some of which was reported by public medias. He teaches classes atundergraduate and graduate levels including Motor Behavior, Skill Acquisitionfor Teaching, Sports Expertise, Movement Variability and Perception and Actionin Motor Skills. Besides his academic role, he is serving as a consultant forUSA Badminton coaching education program, and currently an accredited umpire inBadminton Pan America.
